REDeLEARN is an online resource for children in middle to upper primary school. It can be used in class or at home and has been created to be easy to use and closely aligned to Australian Curriculum topics. Children searching for information can either browse through one of the twelve broad headings, or they can use the Search box to go straight to page entries for whatever they want to know about.
The design has been developed with these main features:Sending young researchers to the Internet to find information on a topic can often lead them to places that are inappropriate in reading level, nature of content or overseas emphasis. REDeLEARN addresses all these problems by providing a website which is safe, comprehensive in its range and reliability, and a one-stop resource which children can use without the risk of finding anything unwelcome.
Teachers will have login access to an admin panel that will provide statistics on usage of REDeLEARN by their students.
This data will help them track the online search behaviour of their class.
The admin panel will also provide other useful tools: direct login links (students can click a link within your secure network so they do not have to remember usernames and passwords), ability to disable articles and subjects, view subscription information.
